Electronic control system supplier InterMotive Vehicle Controls has added rear seat belt sensing to its Upfitter Interface Module (UIM) product.
The UIM offering is a solution for new upfits or upgrading features to existing chassis, because of the product’s ability to access vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN) data. Users can activate and control equipment in customized ways using UIM.
The company stated its offering is easily installed with plug-and-play connections on the OEM chassis. The UIM is available for Ford, General Motors, Stellantis and medium-duty chassis.
The feature is available on the Ford Super Duty chassis. InterMotive said the new element will help provide improved safety options for upfitters and agencies.
The UIM provides eight outputs and two inputs, is field-programmable and uses logic levels through InterMotive’s free graphical user interface. Pre-programmed modules are available.
