A survey recently conducted by a supplier of Starlink mounts found RV consumers overwhelmingly are the primary Starlink Mobile users.
The survey, conducted by Trio Flatmount of 576 consumers, found 37% primarily use their Mobile Starlink on an RV. Van builds accounted for an additional 11%.
Boats/marine vessels ranked second at 15%, with passenger vehicles at 10%.
“This variety highlights a key mindset shift,” the company said, “in that mobile connectivity is no longer limited to niche adventurers, but instead, it is becoming a practical tool across both everyday and professional uses.”
Trio Flatmount said stationary Starlink made off-grid internet possible, but mobile Starlink has changed how people work, travel, and stay safe while traveling. The company said its survey results reveal that internet access is not a convenience but is critical.
Nearly half of respondents say they rely on mobile internet for remote work or income.
More than 10% depend on mobile internet for safety, emergency preparedness, or staying connected to family and friends.
A total of 85% say price was not the primary factor in their decision to buy mobile internet.
“Overall, the survey shows that mobile internet plays a crucial role,” Trio Flatmount said, “with real consequences if connectivity fails.”
The survey found most mobile Starlink customers are located in the western (36%) and southern (19%) U.S. Roughly one-quarter of respondents live outside the U.S., including Canada, Australia, Europe, or at sea.
