In a recently conducted survey, RV owners from across the country identified the importance of access to reliable internet for their everyday camping needs.

The survey was conducted by Outdoormiles.com.

RV owners unanimously agree that reliable internet is a service they want and need in many cases, Outdoormiles.com reported. Additionally, remote working has altered internet needs. The survey found RV owners expecting the trend to increase in the future.

Most RV owners struggle with inadequate technology or complicated setups to acquire internet access, Outdoormiles.com stated.

“Future advancements in remote internet connectivity, such as the advent of mobile satellite internet services, most notability spearheaded with Elon Musk’s Starlink, may begin to fill this gap,” the company stated. “However, a more readily available solution is achievable by services offered through wireless carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.”

The survey found RV community members willing to pay for changes in the mobile internet market. The survey identified service demand with nominal data transfer speed needs supported by existing wireless LTE and 5G technologies.

RV owners said they were willing to pay for stand-alone or bundled internet plans to obtain this service. The survey identified a $40 a month target price point for download speeds of 25 to 50 megabits a second.
