Lightweight camping manufacturer Aliner launched the Switchback Truck Camper this week to appeal to the “no-frills adventurer.”

Aliner President and CEO Brett Randall said, “No kitchen. No bathroom. No problem. The Switchback is all about the journey—and a great night’s sleep when you get there.”

The Switchback offers an insulated, ultra-light sleeping pod that fits most standard and mid-sized pickup truck beds (from 5.5 feet to 8 feet long). When mounted and closed, the camper will fit through a 7-foot garage door for easy storage.

Featuring an aluminum frame, the camper weighs just 375 pounds and accommodates a 60-inch by 72-inch bed. Tinted-glass windows allow light in from the front and back of the camper. The small camper offers electric with a 30-amp converter and interior 12-volt and electric outlets.

Sitting below the camper are two, 60-inch, lockable drawers for additional storage.

Once mounted in a pickup bed, the Switchback can be setup and ready for use in 30 seconds.
