Tampa Bay Summer Show Crowds Swell

The Tampa Bay Summer RV Show, which ran June 8-11, welcomed the second-best crowd in the show’s history, according to organizers.

Over 7,600 people attended the four-day event at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Six area RV dealers filled the Expo and Entertainment Halls with RVs.

“We even had dealers outside in the front and back of the halls,” said Patty Flanagan, show director. “All the dealers I talked to reported brisk sales and a lot of interest from those that didn’t buy at the show.”

Lazydays Sales Manager Dennis Charron said the show crowds were incredible.

“A lot of younger families are looking into RVing as a travel option, which is great for the future,” Charron said. “They have done their homework as they are coming in and asking for specific units. We were very pleased with the crowds this week; this continues to be a very important show for us.”

More than 300 new RVs were on display. Lazydays was joined by Gerzeny’s RV World, General RV Center, Blue Compass, North Trail and Village RV as exhibitors.

The show also took advantage of National Go RVing Day on June 10 and had the local Fox News 13 station at the show.

“Matt Marlatt from General RV did a great job not only showing off a variety of RVs,” Florida RV Trade Association Executive Director Dave Kelly said, “but also got to mention National Go RVing Day, and the station even had in on the bottom of the screen the entire time. I have to think because of the job the Go RVing staff does to promote this day is why we had so much interest again this year.”
