The Shyft Group Reports Facility Damage

The Shyft Group, Inc.’s Montebello, California, truck body manufacturing facility was damaged by a tornado March 22. No injuries to company personnel were reported, the company said.

The Montebello plant is a 40,000-square-foot leased facility and will be closed for the foreseeable future.

“Our top priority was ensuring the safety of our team members and I am grateful that all our employees are safe and unharmed,” said Daryl Adams, The Shyft Group president and CEO. “We appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience during this unforeseen incident and are working closely with them to ensure minimal disruption to their operations.”

Shyft team members are working with customers and suppliers to manage the facility’s business. Employees also are working with the company’s insurance carrier regarding recovery.

The Shyft Group manufactures, assembles and upfits for the commercial, retail, and service specialty vehicle markets. The company’s brands include Spartan RV Chassis and Red Diamond Aftermarket.
