Thor Board Director Will Retire

Thor Industries board director Jim Ziemer will retire from the board effective Oct. 1. The RV manufacturer said Ziemer will act as an observer to the board through the end of the year.

Ziemer joined Thor’s board in 2010. He served as chairman of the company’s Audit Committee from December 2011 to March 2022 and served on the company’s environmental, social, governance and nominating committees.

“Thor Industries has been very fortunate to have Jim serve on our board for the last 12 years,” Board Chairman Andy Graves said. “All of us who have worked with Jim on Thor’s Board of Directors have benefited from his leadership and his commitment to the company. His extensive knowledge of the adjacent powersports industry, manufacturing practices and financial expertise helped guide the incredible performance Thor has enjoyed over the last decade. We extend our gratitude and best wishes to Jim upon his retirement.”

Ziemer spent his career with, starting as a freight elevator operator in 1969 while in college and joined the company’s accounting department after graduating college. He became Harley-Davidson’s chief financial officer in 1990 and served as Harley-Davidson’s CEO from 2005-09.

Ziemer’s retirement is consistent with the board’s refreshment plans, Thor said. No additional new directors are planned at this time.

Thor President and CEO Bob Martin said: “For 12 years, Jim has played an instrumental role on our board of directors and has helped guide our company through periods of growth unparalleled in the industry. Jim’s leadership and collaboration on the board will be greatly missed and we are deeply grateful for the significant contributions he has made.”
