Thor Industries Carefully Monitoring Supply Chains

Manufacturers all across the country are at risk of supply-chain interruptions resulting from the coronavirus. The added worry about widespread outbreaks in the U.S. causing factory closings is also a concern.

Thor Industries CEO and President Bob Martin said there has been a “sharp increase” in the last week or two regarding concerns around the coronavirus and its potential to cause further disruptions to business. Of the most concern is imported goods sourced from China and other areas with increasing infection rates. These supply issues have the potential to further disrupt both global and domestic economies.

While Thor Industries officials say the company has not experienced any factor closures related to the COVID-19 virus in the U.S. or Europe, the company is continuing to seek alternative sources of raw materials as well as new suppliers.

Thor Industries reports schedules remain on track for the upcoming opening of its Hymer USA facility in Bristol, Indiana. Additionally, company officials report there has been no reduction in dealer orders or retail sales.
