Thor Industries released its sixth annual sustainability report. The findings detailed Thor’s 2023 sustainability efforts across all companies.

“As the global leader in the RV industry, today, more than ever, Thor is focused on building for the future through products, people and community involvement,” the company said. “Thor takes its responsibility to promote a clean and safe environment through responsible and sustainable business practices very seriously and believes that doing so will encourage others in the industry to do the same.”

President and CEO Bob Martin said sustainability was an ongoing part of Thor’s culture.

“We are proactively addressing environmental, social and governance risk,” Martin said, “and believe these ongoing sustainability efforts have a very positive impact on our business, consumers, team members, partners and the communities in which we live, work and play.”

Among Thor’s 2023 accomplishments, the manufacturer said it obtained approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Validation Team. The Validation Team confirmed Thor’s short-term and long-term targets are aligned with SBTi’s plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Thor revealed an all-electric RV in Europe. The company partnered with Harbinger to produce an electric RV lineup for larger RVs.

The company supported more than 150 non-profit organizations, including the National Forest Foundation.  Thor collaborated with RVIA to create the RV Industry Sustainability Committee. Thor Vice President of ESG Sandy Rynalski is the committee’s chairwoman.

Thor Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Woelfer said, “We remain focused on contributing to a sustainable future to allow great outdoor experiences, which is a cornerstone of our business.”
