Travel technology company Togo Group bought Overnight RV Parking, an online database of free RV parking locations in North America.
Overnight RV Parking, founded in 2008, reviews and validates submitted location details. It will join the parent company’s other brands, including Roadtrippers, RVillage and Togo RV brands.
“The Togo Group team has a commitment to the RVing experience that will allow Overnight RV Parking to further fulfill our original mission of helping RVers more easily find boondocking locations,” Overnight RV Parking co-founder Jim O’Briant said. “Better yet, being part of Togo creates a much better experience for our current users and preserves the service for years to come.”
Overnight RV Parking will continue to be led by O’Briant, the companies stated, with co-founder Melanie Dumas Grimm remaining as technical advisor throughout the transition.
Togo’s RV app will integrate a parking directory service accessible to the company’s premium subscribers. Overnight RV Parking will reach more than 300,000 RVers who have downloaded the Togo RV app, the company stated. The integration will upgrade existing Overnight RV Parking customers to Togo’s full suite of premium features, called Togo RV Plus.
The company stated that its new Togo RV feature will cover more than 15,000 camping locations accessible to RV travelers within the app.
“RVers have been telling us there is a shortage of reliable information on free, quick and convenient overnight stops,” Togo Group CEO Danny Hest said. “Jim and Melanie built an ideal tool for RVers that complements our focus on creating a better RV experience with Togo RV at a time when the community of new RVers seeking this type of accurate information is growing.”
