According to RVDA of Canada, there are more than 372,000 potentially cloned vehicle identification numbers (VINs) on Canadian roads and 69,000 vehicles were reported stolen in 2024 alone.
“Auto fraud is no longer just a ‘big city’ problem,” RVDA of Canada said. “Criminals are now keeping stolen vehicles in Canada, moving them across provinces and circulating them through dealerships just like yours.”
Carfax Canada Regional Sales Manager Sarah Beaver will lead the webinar. She has over 20 years of sales experience with the last seven years dedicated to the sales organization at Carproof/Carfax Canada. RVDA of Canada said Beaver “partners with dealers to implement Carfax Canada’s trusted solutions that drive measurable results and long-term business success.”
RV dealers are targets, RVDA of Canada said, because the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 are the most cloned vehicles in Canada. They are also popular trade-ins for RV buyers.
RVDA of Canada said dealers will learn to spot a cloned VIN during a trade-in consultation. Dealers will learn how enhanced port security is forcing more fraud into the domestic market. Beaver will show attendees how to use Carfax data to detect fraud before the papers are signed.
