Auction prices for motorhomes sold at auction dropped to some of the lowest levels recorded in recent years, according to Black Book’s December RV Market Commentary. Towables were also down.

The average sales price for motorhomes was $54,848, which is down $8,830 (13.9%) from the previous month. Black Book data since 2010 showed motorhome average sales prices topped $50,000 for the first time in January 2020. Since crossing the $60,000 threshold for the first time in November 2020, October’s average sales price is the fifth-lowest recorded.

Motorhome average sales prices are up slightly from October 2024, when the average sales price was $54,243.

Black Book Principal Analyst for Specialty Markets Eric Lawrence said, “The values of used RVs sold at wholesale auctions dropped quite a bit last month. Seasonality is certainly playing a role here, as is the ongoing arrival of MY2026 units on dealers’ lots.”

Auction volume for motorhomes was down 29.5% from the previous month. The average model year sold was 2016.

Towable average sales prices dropped for the fourth consecutive month. Towables averaged $15,203, down $1,173 (7.2%) from last month. The price is the lowest monthly average since April 2020, when towables averaged $13,631.

Towable auction volume rose 1.5% over the previous month. The average model year sold at auction was 2020.

One year ago, the average towable trailer sold for $19,062, 20.2% more than in October 2025.
