Winnebago Industries CEO Michael Happe spoke to business analysts at CNBC on Tuesday about the rising interest in RVs during the time of COVID-19.

Happe joined the show ‘Power Lunch’ to discuss the potential impact of this surge on the RV industry. He said many people will gravitate toward RVs and the outdoor lifestyle as stay-at-home orders are lifted across the country.

“I think we’re seeing a mix of demand in the outdoor recreation industries right now,” Happe said. “Certainly there are a number of first time buyers who are interested in using recreational vehicles to get outdoors, but I also think we’re seeing a number of people who have been in the lifestyle for a while and maybe want to upgrade or look at something new.”

He said people will look to the outdoors as a way to safely spend time with family and close friends as summer weather arrives nationwide.
