In late April, Winnebago Industries President and CEO Mike Happe told Newmar executives gathered in Florida that Winnebago Industries would support Newmar’s growth with “multiple eight-figure investments.”

On Tuesday, Winnebago Industries announced another major investment plan for one of the company’s subsidiaries.

Barletta Pontoon Boats, which Winnebago Industries acquired in 2021, will break ground later this summer on a new 184,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Bristol, Indiana.

The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023, Winnebago Industries said, and create more than 200 new jobs.

“We established Barletta with the goal to redefine the pontoon segment with boats of unrivaled craftsmanship for boaters throughout North America,” said Barletta founder and President Bill Fenech, a co-creator of Keystone RV and Grand Design RV. “This expansion exemplifies the continued progress we have achieved with the commitment and dedication of our team, and the support of Winnebago Industries.”

An official ground-breaking ceremony will take place in late summer/early fall.
