Winnebago Industries is introducing a new RV camper van to its lineup, deemed the Winnebago Solis Pocket.

The Pocket, designated by its 36A floorplan, is Winnebago’s third Solis model. The Pocket joins the 59P and 59PX. The Pocket is the company’s most affordable camper van. Winnebago stated it features extended season capability and a layout inspired by van life custom layouts and DIYers.

“We are excited to introduce the new 36A to the Solis lineup,” Winnebago Product Manager Chris Bienert said. “We created a new name for the 36A – the Solis Pocket – due to its compact size and feature set that is slightly different than the 59P and 59PX floorplans. The Solis Pocket’s simple and multifunctional design aligns well with the needs of DIYers who might otherwise attempt to build out their own van. This camper van is the turn-key solution to start enjoying van life right away.”

Featuring a Ram ProMaster chassis with a high roof, the Solis Pocket is 17 feet, 10 inches long. Winnebago stated the unit is easy to maneuver and park because of its compact size, yet has significant ground clearance.

“What is nice about the Solis Pocket is that its compact design easily navigates urban areas, but stays true to the Solis’ surf-to-slope design and accommodates all facets of life and travel on the road,” Bienert said.

The Solis Pocket features a customizable living area. The dinette can transition into a daybed or sofa, and a full-length work center provides space for storing and charging electronics.

The unit’s galley is made for “flexible functionality,” Winnebago stated, and includes a two-burner range top and 3-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator. A dual-purpose Molle panel provides a retention gate for gear stored below the bed. A 52-by-75-inch Murphy bed opens across the coach’s rear section, with storage available underneath.

In addition, a removable galley pack is included and can be used for storing kitchen items and accessories.

The Solis Pocket earned the Truma Gold Standard, a rating for cold weather operation from heating and cooling supplier Truma. Solis Pocket is expected to arrive at dealerships this fall. Those interested can find more information here.
