Tiffin Motorhomes has been among the leading diesel Type A manufacturers since the company’s founding in 1972. Next year, Tiffin will bring its expertise to building Entegra Coach diesel motorhomes.

Thor Industries will shift Entegra Coach Type A diesel motorhome manufacturing from Indiana to Alabama, beginning with the 2027 model year. Tiffin Motorhomes will manufacture Entegra’s diesel motorhomes at its Red Bay, Alabama, plant.

Tiffin President Leigh Tiffin said the manufacturer has an experienced and passionate team that takes great pride in its work.

“Tiffin is known for producing some of the highest quality motorhomes in the market,” he said, “and we are honored to bring that same level of excellence to the Entegra Coach brand.”

Leigh Tiffin said the company does not need to add another plant in Red Bay to ramp up manufacturing capacity. At the peak of Tiffin’s manufacturing in Red Bay, the company built approximately 2,000 diesel motorhomes annually. Currently, the company is building approximately 700 annually.

“We’ve got room to grow,” Tiffin said. “We will be adding additional PDI teams and processes to make sure quality only goes up from here.”

Thor Industries President and CEO Bob Martin said Thor needed to streamline production across its brands as the Type A diesel market shrinks. In 2019, Statistical Surveys Inc. reported 19,154 North American retail registrations among all Type A motorhomes, including 6,757 diesel Type A sales. Last year, SSI reported 8,744 total Type A retail registrations, down 54% over five years.

“Given the overall size of the Class A diesel market, integrating Entegra Coach into Tiffin optimizes our production at Tiffin,” Martin said, “where Class A diesels comprise a greater percentage of its product offering and allows us to leverage Tiffin’s expertise in the segment.”

Leigh Tiffin said he spoke with several Entegra Coach and Tiffin dealers about the change, including numerous dealers carrying Tiffin and Entegra Coach diesel Type A motorhomes. He said the overall response from dealers has been positive.

“They see the value in aligning the brands and are excited about the potential,” he said. “We are excited to uphold and continue the strong reputation Entegra has built over the years.”

Jayco President Ken Walters said Tiffin understands Entegra’s high standards and strong reputation for luxury, performance and owner loyalty.

Walters said, “Tiffin’s long-standing commitment to quality and integrity makes them the ideal partner for this next chapter of Entegra.”

Martin said rapid evolving requirements in the Type A diesel segment will require the engineering and craftsmanship Tiffin can provide.

The transition will not affect Entegra’s gas Type A, Type B and Type C motorhomes, which will continue to be manufactured in Middlebury, Indiana, in conjunction with Jayco’s motorized lineup.

Jayco will continue to produce 2026 model year Entegra Coach Type A diesel motorhomes through the end of the 2025 calendar year.

In calendar year 2026, Tiffin will begin integrating select Entegra Coach product names and design elements into its 2027 model-year A lineup. The motorhomes will be marketed exclusively as Tiffin products. Tiffin will handle the service and warranty for all Tiffin-built motorhomes.

Jayco will provide customer service, parts and warranty experience for all Jayco-built Entegra Coach products.
