CompoCloset has earned the Eco-Verified designation from TRA Certification.

The company said this milestone reflects CompoCloset’s unwavering commitment to practical, planet-friendly sanitation solutions that reduce water waste, chemical use and environmental impact. From CompoCloset’s flagship Cuddy composting toilet to the forthcoming S1, a urine-diverting dry flush toilet designed for clean, chemical-free use, CompoCloset is helping set a benchmark for sanitation in off-grid environments.

CompoCloset co-founder and CEO Richard Peter said he is beyond excited to earn the Eco-Verified designation.

“Sustainability is not a marketing gimmick, it is our foundation,” Peter said. “This designation affirms that we are not just building toilets, we are building a better future.”

CompoCloset said it saves over 6,600 gallons of water per person annually while preventing wastewater discharge into waterways. CompoCloset products require no plumbing or sewage infrastructure and molded and assembled in California.

TRA Certification said it is a third-party sustainability auditor in the RV, modular housing, marine and consumer goods industries. Its Eco-Verified program recognizes companies whose products meet high-performance benchmarks in energy, water, waste and material impact.

TRA Certification President Mandy Leazenby said the certification is about more than just checking a box.

CompoCloset’s design, materials and mission all reflect true environmental leadership,” Leazenby said. “They do not just say they are green, – they prove it.”
