CRVA Marks 50th Anniversary by Raising Over $80,000 for Care Camps

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association’s (CRVA) year-long 50th Anniversary RV Giveaway campaign raised more than $80,000 in support of Care Camps Canada.

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association’s (CRVA) year-long 50th Anniversary RV Giveaway campaign raised more than $80,000 in support of Care Camps Canada.

Launched last February, the initiative brought together RV enthusiasts, dealers, manufacturers, campground owners and outdoor adventurers from across Canada to support fundraising efforts.

CRVA President Shane Devenish said the association donated $1 for every paid attendee from the 2026 Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show.

“These past twelve months have been incredibly meaningful for our association,” Devenish said. “As we celebrated 50 years in the RV industry and the RV lifestyle in Canada, we wanted to mark the milestone in a meaningful way that gave back and the response from the RV community was truly remarkable”

The campaign featured a coast-to-coast CRVA 50th Anniversary RV Tour.

During the tour, CRVA travelled across Canada attending festivals, RV shows and community events to promote the RV lifestyle while raising awareness and funds for Care Camps.

CRVA said thousands of Canadians participated by purchasing tickets for a chance to win a brand-new Citation Reward travel trailer that was provided by General Coach Canada of Hensall, Ontario.

The campaign culminated at The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show, where the official draw took place live on March 1st.

The winner of the CRVA 50th Anniversary RV Giveaway was Denise Magwood of St. Catharines, Ontario.

Care Camps is a nonprofit organization that supports a network of specialized oncology camps across North America, including 16 in Canada.

The foundation provides children with cancer and their families the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, build friendships and create lasting memories in a supportive camp environment.

“This past year showed the strength and generosity of the Canadian RV community,” Devenish said. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a ticket, made a donation, or helped spread the word. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 50th anniversary while making a real difference towards a truly meaningful cause.”
