Two longtime leaders in the RV and marine industries have released a new book they say was written to help organizations recruit and develop top-performing teams.
Authors Jamison Carrier and Dominic Zappia have co-authored Building a Championship Team, a practical guide for hiring, leading and developing high-performance employees.
Carrier began his career selling RVs in the 1990s and later helped grow a national dealer group from roughly 50 locations to over 150.
He then founded Relentless Dealer Services, a consulting and training company serving RV and Marine dealerships nationwide. When RDS was acquired by Canadian private equity firm EasyCare in 2023, Carrier became EasyCare’s National RV and Marine team leader.
“For years we watched companies struggle with hiring the right people,” Carrier said. “Traditional interviews tend to reward personality rather than performance. If you want to build a team that wins, you need a system that identifies top performers before you hire them.”
His first book, Syndromedy, reached No. 1 on Audible in 2025.
Zappia has worked directly with dealership teams for two decades. He has helped implement performance systems, develop finance and sales teams and improve dealership operations.
“We wrote this book for leaders who are tired of guessing when it comes to hiring,” Zappia said. “Building a championship team is not about luck. It is about clarity, accountability and putting the right people in the right roles.”
Today Carrier leads TeamNavX, a recruiting firm focused on helping organizations build stronger teams.
Zappia serves as EasyCare’s senior vice president of RV and marine and works with dealership partners across North America.
Their book outlines the hiring framework and leadership principles the two developed after years of helping organizations improve performance and build stronger teams.
It features a foreword written by bestselling leadership author Dave Anderson.
