Vixen Composites, an Airxcel brand specializing in fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and custom composite panels, introduced a new FRP product to its lineup.
Vixen’s FibroSupreme is a thicker FRP panel, used as an RV’s exterior walls. Airxcel said the 0.55-inch-thick FibroSupreme provides a better performance at a lower price than typical 0.45-inch-thick panels.
FibroSupreme is 22% thicker than 0.045-inch FRP, hiding seams and imperfections. Airxcel said FibroSupreme is 20% stiffer than 0.045-inch FRP and has 20% to 30% better bending strength.
Vixen Composites Business Unit Manager Gordon Frost said, “We wanted to fill out the Vixen FRP product line. Vixen’s FibroSupreme FRP at 0.055-inch achieves the economical target while maintaining the performance and durability expectations that many RV OEMs have been wanting and have come to expect from Vixen Composites FRP.”
