Alliance RV launched in 2019 making fifth wheels and, eventually, toy haulers. The manufacturer expanded into travel trailers and destination trailers over time.
On Tuesday, Alliance RV made its first move into motorhome manufacturing. The company acquired Midwest Automotive Designs from Rev Group.
Alliance RV’s headquarters is roughly 6 miles away from Midwest Automotive Designs’ plant in Elkhart, Indiana. Alliance said Midwest will operate as a separate business unit within Alliance.
Alliance RV co-owner Ryan Brady said, “Over the past 20+ years, Midwest has been dedicated to manufacturing premium, high-end luxury vehicles and has developed a distinct reputation for quality, service and product innovation. The acquisition of Midwest aligns with our strategy to broaden and strengthen Alliance’s RV offering. We look forward to leveraging the vast resources at Alliance RV to build on the incredible platform that Midwest has established to usher in the next chapter of growth.”
Midwest Automotive Designs’ manufacturing facilities will remain in Elkhart. Alliance said Midwest Automotive Designs’ 200 employees will remain with Alliance.
Midwest Automotive Designs entered the market in 2003. The company’s current combined manufacturing and office space exceeds 150,000 square feet.
Alliance said the company also values Midwest’s multiple products for the luxury limousine, charter and tour (LCT) bus markets. Midwest builds its RVs and LCT vans primarily on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis.
Alliance co-owner Coley Brady said, “We are incredibly excited to welcome the Midwest Automotive Designs team to the Alliance family. Midwest is an excellent company with a fantastic product offering. Our goal is to take that foundation and apply the Alliance RV difference.”
