Camping World Invests in Audio App

Camping World Holdings is investing in technology platform “HearHere,” a mobile audio entertainment app for travelers.

The company stated it plans to integrate HearHere into Camping World’s proprietary trip planning tool to provide customers with real-time content while traveling. The tool comes a day after announcing the acquisition of campground booking engine Nomad Reservations.

Camping World stated the investment further expands the company’s commitment to “supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and technology” in the RV and outdoor markets.

“We are investing in the development and enhancement of tools that engage and educate consumers about this great country,” Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said. “We are focused on partnerships that will have a long-term impact on the growth and success of the RV and outdoor lifestyle.”

HearHere is a subscription-based audio app that offers content and stories from a historical, natural and cultural perspective, based on the traveler’s location. The professional content narration allows consumers to explore the outdoors while gaining knowledge and awareness of surrounding areas. Camping World stated the app is working to expand its content library to include more than 10,000 stories about American places, people and events.
