Canadian chemical company Recochem acquired the parent company of RV supplier Star Brite for approximately $50 million.

Recochem is an automotive and functional fluid solutions provider. Last year, the company reorganized into PFX Group, which includes Recochem, Prestone, Kost USA and all the companies’ associated brands. PFX Group owns the Prestone and RainX brands, among many others.

In an SEC filing, Recochem said it bought Ocean Bio-Chem, Star Brite’s parent company, for $55 million, less an estimated $5 million in working capital and other adjustments. Ocean Bio-Chem manufactures, markets and distributes specialty chemical products under the Star Brite, Star Tron, Odor Star, Performacide and other brand names.

Austin Singleton, executive chairman of OneWater Marine Inc., the parent of Ocean Bio-Chem, said proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce company debt.

“As part of our long-term strategy, we are focused on simplifying the business and allocating capital to the areas with the strongest strategic fit,” Singleton said. “The transaction enables us to sharpen our focus on core assets and enhance financial flexibility.”

According to OneWater Marine’s SEC filing, Ocean Bio-Chem totaled $61.46 million in revenue in the company’s fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2025. The division totaled $39.39 million in expenses, $20.754 million in selling, general and administrative expenses, and $4.074 million in depreciation and amortization. The filing reported $2.759 million in Ocean Bio-Chem loss from operations in the year that ended Sept. 30, 2025.
