To mark 50 years in Canada’s RV industry, the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is hitting the road.
Starting today, CRVA President Shane Devenish is setting off on a cross-country tour. He is traveling in a special 2025 Citation Reward travel trailer by General Coach to celebrate CRVA’s anniversary.
Along the way, Devenish will raise funds for Care Camps Foundation of Canada, a charity that helps send children with cancer to healing camp experiences.
“When we started planning this journey a year ago,” Devenish said, “we knew we wanted to do something meaningful for our 50th year. We wanted to celebrate our roots, promote everything we love about the RV lifestyle and find a way to give back to our community. We decided on Care Camps, a charity that truly makes a difference in children’s lives.”

Devenish said the coast-to-coast journey is about more than the 50-year milestone. The trip is about meeting RVers where they are, hearing their stories and giving back in a truly meaningful way.
Over 2.1 million Canadian households own an RV. RVing enables Canadians to explore scenic destinations, unplug from daily stress and support small communities.
“RVing is such a big part of Canadian life—from the family road trips to weekend getaways—and I am excited to experience this for myself, firsthand,” Devenish said. “l am looking forward to seeing all of the friendly faces across the country.”
The RV industry contributes over $3.4 billion annually to Canada’s economy and supports more than 14,000 jobs nationwide, from manufacturing to campground operations.
CRVA’s RV will make several stops throughout the summer journey at campgrounds and RVDA dealerships along the way, including at Transcona Trailer Sales in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Wednesday for the dealership’s open house event.
CRVA will be at Western Country RV in Airdrie, Alberta, at the end of June.
Joss Penny from the British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association will take over the road trip and head west to Traveland RV in Langley, British Columbia, and the Vancouver Craft Beer and Music Festival on July 12.
The road trip returns east to participate in the Boots and Hearts Festival on Aug. 7-10. The road trip ends at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto from Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
At every stop, consumers can buy a ticket to support Care Camps and enter a contest to win the special Citation Reward travel trailer, valued at over $100,000. Every every dollar raised goes directly to Care Camps of Canada.
