Jason Child sold Carbon Emery RV North and Carbon Emery RV South in Helper, Utah, to Camping World in a deal announced March 27.
Child spoke for the first time about the sale. He started Carbon Emery in 2016.
Before Child opened the dealership, the site was a gravel lot with a 3,500-square-foot shop and an office trailer. Child built a new 9,200-square-foot building at the end of 2016. In 2021, Child expanded to a second location on what was the dealership’s overflow lot.
“My vision for Carbon Emery RV was to develop an RV dealership focusing primarily on serving the Helper, Utah, area,” Child said. “We know the kind of freedom and adventure our customers are looking for, so we intentionally carry a large selection of new and pre-owned campers with our local customers in mind. In addition, we have built friendly and experienced sales, financing, service, and parts teams, each ready to offer outstanding service at every point.”
RV Business Solutions was the exclusive sell-side adviser to Child. Since 2021, RV Business Solutions has advised on over 50 RV dealership locations sales totaling over $400 million.
RV Business Solutions Co-Founder and Partner Scott Degnan said, “It was a true pleasure working with Jason and our honor to be able to help him in the sale of his dealerships.”
Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said, “Carbon Emery RV expands our presence into the important national park corridor of central Utah, and post-acquisition we expect to solidify our position as the number one RV retailer by unit volume in Utah.”
Lemonis said earlier this month that Camping World hopes to increase the company’s store count by 50% over the next five years.
