For RV dealers who have devoted decades to building their businesses, choosing an exit strategy can be a most tenuous task. For dealers without family wishing to continue the business, the possibilities are limited.

Don Littlefield, principal of the Boat-N-RV chain, is one such dealer who recently penned a deal to sell his Hamburg, Pennsylvania, and Albany, New York, dealerships. Littlefield will continue to operate dealerships in Americus, Georgia; Ridgeland, South Carolina; and Rockwood, Tennessee.

“This announcement is bittersweet as we say goodbye to our wonderful teammates in Albany and Hamburg who have represented our company in tremendous fashion for decades,” Littlefield said. “However, we’re excited the Hirsch family and Campers Inn see the opportunity to invest in these markets and are acquiring the dealerships. Campers Inn brings significant resources to our team and customers at both locations. Selling these dealerships will allow us to increase the focus on our marine manufacturing and retail operations.

“I would also like to thank the team at Haig Partners for their guidance, insight and support throughout the process,” he added. “Kevin Nill worked diligently with my team to identify the best buyer for the dealerships and was instrumental in representing our interests during negotiations and closing.”

“I want to thank Don Littlefield and Geof Hoffman for giving us the opportunity to include their Pennsylvania and New York locations in Campers Inn’s expansion,” Campers Inn Owner and CEO Jeff Hirsch said. “I’m excited how we continue to give our customers options for their RVing needs. We pride ourselves that our customers are welcomed regardless of which of our 29 locations they choose. I’m equally excited for the employees of these two locations, as well as our existing employees, as we continue to provide each of them with excellent career opportunities. Thank you, Don and Geof.”

Kevin Nill of Haig Partners, who assisted with the transaction, said, “It was truly a pleasure to have been selected by Don Littlefield and Geof Hoffman to represent the company in the divestiture of these two dealerships. Given the success of the business and excellent markets, our confidential marketing process was able to identify the best possible buyer and negotiate a successful outcome for both parties. I have known the Hirsch family for many years and was confident they would partner well with my client and be great owners for the Boat-N-RV associates. We want to congratulate Don, Geof and the Hirsch family on this transaction and wish the new Campers Inn teammates great success in the future”
