Adventure vehicle manufacturer 27North unveiled its third Type B van, Venture X.
27North founder and CEO Pavel Bosovik said Venture X has been his vision for a long time. He said he wanted to create an expedition-style adventure van available for everyone, without compromising quality.
The Venture X is built on the Mercedes-Benz 170-inch wheelbase with all-wheel drive.
Bosovik said he saw consumers settle for cheaper RVs only to face high maintenance costs and lost travel time. He calculated what people spend on RV service and what their time is worth. He set out to design a van retailing for $199,000.
“After probably a year of sketching and re-sketching and drawing and re-drawing, we finally came up with the Venture X,” Bosovik said. “We directly compete now with the cheapest RVs in the market.”
The interior features seating and sleeping capacity for families of two to five, built-in kitchen and dining areas, safety features and eco-friendly upgrades. The vehicle also features a removable pop-up tent for extra sleeping space.
Venture X’s flooring is a fiberglass panel. Cabinets are white with black trim. Cushions are brown leather.
Bosovik said he is most excited about the vehicle’s all-aluminum interior.
“All of our cabinetry are aluminum, our walls, our ceilings are all aluminum,” he said. “We call it the 50-pound test, but you can take a rubber mallet, hit any point of the RV, except the appliances, and it will be sturdy and not break.”
Venture X is equipped with a combination of outsourced and in-house water, electrical and air conditioning systems. The systems follow a plug-and-play model, eliminating dismantling.
27North hosted a grand reveal celebration for Venture X and its new expedition truck, Trekker. The event was Wednesday, April 23 at the manufacturer’s factory in Springfield, Missouri. The celebration featured live music, food, a factory tour and a keynote speech from Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe.
Bosovik said 27North looks to expand its dealer network to every state. Interested dealers can contact [email protected] or visit https://the27north.com/contact/.
