Winds may come and waters may roar, but Dragonfly Energy’s Battle Born Batteries will outlast them all.

The dust and water-resistant batteries earned a third-party verification of their resistance to the elements.

The batteries were stamped with an Ingress Protection (IP)65 rating in January. The 100-amp-hour LiFePO4 Deep Cycle, the 100-amp-hour GC2 LiFePO4 Deep Cycle, the 270-amp-hour LifePO4 Deep Cycle GC3 and the 270-amp-hour LiFePO4 Deep Cycle 8D batteries received the rating.

Dragonfly Chief Marketing Officer Tyler Bourns said, “We built our product with this water and dust resistance in mind.”

Battle Born Batteries have a double seal surrounding the battery lid to ensure unwanted elements do not enter.

IP ratings were created under the International Electrotechnical Commission to measure durability under two segments. The first number represents intrusion protection while the second represents a product’s moisture protection. Independent third parties provide certification to the IP rating standards.

Bourns said the rating could be a “mainstay as we move forward with any new products that it will be a go-to to include.”
