Dragonfly Energy’s Battle Born brand released a pair of new products and revamped its mobile app.

The company is expanding its lineup with new inverter/chargers and smaller capacity lithium batteries.

Dragonfly Chief Marketing Officer Tyler Bourns said the updated mobile app will seamlessly tie the entire Battle Born power system together.

“There is a lot of importance to building out a system that works effectively. We have built out a full Battle Born ecosystem,” Bourns said. “Our customers know if they have a Battle Born inverter and a Battle Born battery bank, they can plug it in and they are good to go. They can go through RV-C, and they can tie it into their rig’s system, or they can go through the Battle Born app. That is where you are going to see the best performance and value in that full Battle Born ecosystem.”

The first releases in Battle Born’s new inverter line are the 2,000-watt inverter and inverter/charger models. The company said the new models will deliver pure sine-wave power with high surge capability. The inverter and inverter/chargers will seamlessly integrate with Battle Born batteries.

“We use our Dragonfly Intelligence Technology, and that is kind of the under-the-hood battery communication tech that we use,” Bourns said. “What it does beyond tying them all together is optimize your system and give the end-user visibility into the performance of the system.”

The company said the inverter/chargers have twice the surge capability to power motors and heavy appliances. They feature an integrated automatic transfer switch for toggling between shore, generator and battery power. The inverter/chargers’ low-voltage recovery reactivates lithium batteries that shut down due to deep discharge.

“What all this comes down to is, you are improving the longevity of your system,” Bourns said. “These are electronics, and if you push them to places they are not supposed to go, you end up decreasing lifespan. Using everything in the way that it likes most…with the most compatible parts…you are actually going to be making those components last longer.”

Another new product is the Base Series battery. Bourns said the Base Series is Dragonfly Energy’s no-frills line.

“There are a lot of people who do not need all the bells and whistles of an entire system,” Bourns said. “A lot of people want to have a product and a brand they can trust. You get Battle Born quality and safety without the bells and whistles.”

The Base Series launched three new models: a 10-amp-hour battery, a 20-amp-hour model and a 30-amp-hour model.

The company said each battery is built with cylindrical LiFePO₄ cells and includes a built-in battery management system to protect against overcharge, over-discharge, over-temperature, low temperature and short-circuit events.

“Those can be used for anything from kids’ toys to fishing electronics, from small van systems to motorized scooters,” Bourns said. “We will expand that line with larger batteries to fit people’s needs.”

According to Dragonfly, the Base Series offers more than double the capacity of similarly sized lead-acid batteries. The company said the Base Series batteries are lighter, charge faster and have a service life of 3,000 to 5,000 cycles.

“At the end of the day, it is a battery,” Bourns said. “Some people want a really powerful battery system, and some people are really fed up with battery anxiety, and they just want it to provide power when they need it.”

Tying the entire Battle Born ecosystem together is the redesigned Battle Born Mobile App V2.0. The company said the revamped app enables consumers to see real-time battery data and system status. The app features RV-C integration for compatibility with major third-party control systems.

“At the end of the day, it is about the customer, and we want to be able to provide them as seamless an experience as possible,” Bourns said. “We can provide all the pieces within the system that they know and can trust. I think we are setting the customer up for success.”
