Craig Smith RV Center in Galion, Ohio, is among the North American RV dealerships that carry both Alliance RV and Midwest Automotive Design brands. General Manager Alex Smith learned about Alliance RV’s acquisition of Midwest Automotive Design on Tuesday, along with the general public, when Alliance RV made the news known.
Smith said he and his 15-employee staff are very excited about the acquisition.
“Alliance is a great company to work with,” Smith said. “They have a more personal touch than many manufacturers.”
The dealership added Alliance RV brands shortly after the company began operations in 2019. A year ago, the dealership added Midwest Automotive Designs motorhomes.
Smith said Craig Smith RV performs well in Type B motorhome sales. The dealership also carries Entegra Coach and Leisure Travel Van models.
“I had some experience with [Midwest Automotive Designs motorhomes] in the past on trade-ins,” Smith said, “and I heard good things about them from some of my friends in the industry who carry the product.”
He said Midwest Automotive Designs should benefit from Alliance RV’s leadership, particularly co-owners Coley and Ryan Brady.
“The two brothers that run that company are heavily involved,” Smith said. “You can see the success and the quality that Alliance has put out on the sales side, or marketing, or service. I am excited to see that transfer into the Midwest line.”
Smith said Midwest Automotive Designs motorhomes are quality RVs and highly customizable. He said the brand could find room to improve its marketing, videos and website.
“The two brothers are going to be able to take care of that pretty quickly,” Smith said, “and get that name recognition out.”
Smith said he would expect Midwest Automotive Design’s quality to get even better under Alliance RV’s watchful eye.
