EXCLUSIVE: Fun Town RV Adding Missouri Location

Fun Town RV is bringing the party to Buckner, Missouri.

A former Ford dealership on Highway 24 just west of Buckner will become the dealer chain’s first Missouri location. It will join the chain’s Ottawa, Kansas, store in servicing the greater Kansas City market.

Fun Town RV founder and CEO Jarrod McGhee said, “This is the Fun Town RV footprint. We serve larger markets, but we do it from off the beaten path because we do not like to be right in the everyday bustle of the cities. We believe in having a more peaceful shopping experience.”

McGhee said Fun Town RV has been searching for a location on the eastern side of Kansas City for some time. The property has a 10,037-square-foot service area and a 3,000-square-foot office on 10 acres of land.

McGhee did not disclose an opening date for the Buckner dealership, which is currently being renovated.

“We have renovated every facility that we have,” McGhee said. “That is our typical way of doing it. We have never built anything from the ground up. Because it was a car dealership, we have to put in some larger bay doors and do a couple of other things. These types of facilities just need a little bit of upkeep and maintenance and new paint. New paint goes a long way.”

The facility comes with a large lot, McGhee said, providing room to grow in the years to come. The company plans to expand into that space during the next year or two. The extra land could be used for both display areas and overflow for the service department.

“It will be more of a sales-focused location,” McGhee said. “The store in Ottawa is larger and has a very, very nice large service facility where we can take care of a lot of our customers’ service needs.”

Fun Town RV said the new location will carry models from Brinkley, Forest River and Thor Motor Coach.

With the Buckner location, Fun Town RV will have 33 dealerships in eight states. When Fun Town RV bought Tri-State RV in Illinois in 2021, the dealer chain had 14 stores and anticipated doubling in size in the next three years. Since then, the company has added 19 locations and has additional service centers, plants and corporate offices, as well.

“It is hard to keep track these days,” McGhee said. “We have some exciting things up our sleeves here. It has been a busy few months, actually busy two years. We have been focused on growth, and it has been a perfect time to acquire while a lot of people are exiting the industry. I am proud that we have been able to take advantage of the market conditions and grow our footprint.”

In 2025 alone, Fun Town RV has acquired Larry’s RV in Jackson, Michigan, Edmundson RV in Edinburg, Indiana, Lazydays RV locations in Sunrise, Arizona and Las Vegas, and Nature Coast RV in Crystal River, Florida.
