Leigh Tiffin spent his RV career working in manufacturing with the company bearing his family’s name. This week, the 37-year-old is starting his new career as the National Indoor RV Centers (NIRVC) president.
Tiffin approached NIRVC founder and CEO Brett Davis in the summer of 2024 after hearing that Davis was seeking a successor with plans for a big future.
“This is a very important moment in NIRVC’s history,” Tiffin said. “He has lofty aspirations, and he wanted to make sure he got it right.”
Davis said in a video release that Tiffin’s hiring is part of the dealer chain’s plan to take the company public eventually. Davis said he had planned an initial public offering (IPO) for 2029 since 2023. Davis would sell 10% of the company in an IPO, but he said he needed a younger leader to chart the company’s future path.
He said when Tiffin approached him about the role, “You could have knocked me over with a feather.”
The hiring process took approximately 18 months and accelerated in the summer of 2025. Davis put Tiffin through numerous interviews with business associates and colleagues to ensure he was the right choice.
“You only get one IPO,” he said. “We had to get it right.”
Tiffin said he will lead the company’s day-to-day operations and work closely with Davis on NIRVC’s strategy and vision. He said he plans to help scale the business, with long-term aspirations of launching an IPO.
Davis said Tiffin has been an exceptional manager in his career. He said Tiffin thrives on coaching and managing people.
Tiffin said his deep manufacturing and operational background will provide him with expertise to share with NIRVC. He said his experience does not reside solely in manufacturing. He said his experience also extends to workforce management, building talent and training employees, and managing purchasing and bill of materials.
“For a company like NIRVC, sales are important to the business,” he said. “We do a big job with our manufacturing partners and sell a lot. We want to differentiate ourselves on the service side, too. As Brett likes to say, we want the hamburger to taste the same at every store across the country.”
Tiffin said his role is not to repair the company. He said his goal is to grow the business.
“We have some other phenomenal resources on the team,” he said. “There is a great team in place already. There’s no way I’m coming in saying I am going to fix something that is broken.”
Tiffin originally planned to join NIRVC in the summer, after completing the pre-rally launch of the manufacturer’s new Cornerstone motorhome and after the annual dealer meeting in April. Instead, he said the timing for joining NIRVC in late February could not work better.
“I will have about 90 days under my belt when the Nashville Music City Motorhome Expo kicks off,” he said. “I cannot think of a better way to round out my onboarding. Then to turn around and do another one on the West Coast in Las Vegas, the timing could not have been any better.”
Tiffin’s first job as NIRVC president is attending the Newmar Dealer Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The sight of a very recent president of a Newmar competitor walking the Broward County Convention Center floors drew attention. Tiffin said stepping into his new role with complete loyalty is easy.
“For me, I am Switzerland,” he said. “We want to get our customers what they want. We are going to proudly represent all our manufacturers. Tiffin was an important supplier to NIRVC. Newmar is important to NIRVC, and so are others. At this point, I bleed blue. I look forward to supporting everyone.”
