Over the past 35 years, Ron Hoover RV & Marine has expanded to encompass 14 stores across Texas. For the first time, the dealer chain is moving across state lines.

Ron Hoover RV bought Lewis RV Center, an Oklahoma City-based dealership in business since 1963.

Ron Hoover RV President Chris Hoover said the expansion to another state was about finding the right fit.

“We are always looking for the right next fit for our team,” he said, “If this were somewhere real far, it might not have happened, but Oklahoma is close, so it fit.”

The customer-first culture established at Lewis RV Center was another draw, Hoover said. Lewis RV Center co-owner Clifton Lewis said the culture fit was key to the decision to sell.

“When the idea of selling or partnering with another dealership first came up, there was only one name that stood out—Ron Hoover RV & Marine,” he said. “From our first conversation, it was clear their values, family culture, and commitment to customers aligned perfectly with ours. This partnership is not just a business decision—it is a continuation of everything Lewis RV Center has stood for since 1963.”

Chris Hoover said the company’s goal is to retain the staff of acquisition targets.

He said, “We are very proud of our track record in retention.”

Clifton Lewis owned Lewis RV Center with his sister, Amy Rutherford. Rutherford will retire after the sale, but Clifton Lewis, his wife Wendy and Rutherford’s husband Gary will stay with the store.

Chris Hoover said, “We are incredibly excited to partner with a company—and a family—with such a strong reputation and shared commitment to integrity.”

Lewis RV Center carries new RVs from Coachmen, East to West, Forest River, Keystone RV and KZ RV. Chris Hoover said the dealership plans to expand Lewis RV Center’s product offerings, inventory and services.
