EXCLUSIVE: RV Roof Dilemmas Solved

EPDM Coatings launched in 1999 as a commercial roofing solutions provider. A decade later, the company moved into the RV industry with its RV Roof Magic product. Today, the company seeks distributor partners to help RV Roof Magic reach more RV dealers/retails stores.

Vice President of Sales Greg Kazmierczak said when the company launched RV Roof Magic, it talked with repair shops and identified four issues they were facing.

The first was consumer knowledge. Many consumers were unaware of the material comprising their roofs. Certain coatings cannot be applied to certain materials such as water-based acrylics, metal or wood. Without knowing the roof material, consumers were unable to apply the correct coating.

Another issue was the need for a faster dry time. Many coatings require wait time between layers and require up to 24 hours to complete after the final application. The issue consumed service time.

The dry time affected finances as well. The longer the roof coating took to dry, the longer the repair shop’s bays were unavailable.

Longevity was also a concern. Consumers desired a solution lasting years, especially when paying a steep price.

The company said RV Roof Magic solved many RV roof issues. The application required one coat and did not need a primer. The coating is waterproofed in three hours and dries in five to six hours.  The liquid’s composition is formulated with a unique solvent which allows the product to chemically cross-link and fuse to the existing RV roof surface.

The product can be applied to any RV roof type except silicone and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Kazmierczak said, “If you want a product that you apply on your RV and you do not want to have to worry about it for 18 to 20 years, this is the product.”

As RV Roof Magic sales have increased, EPDM Coatings is ripe to collaborate with distributors. A distributor partnership would enable EPDM’s sales staff to focus on the company’s commercial segment.

RV Roof Magic includes a 10-year warranty. The warranty covers manufactured defects. If the coating detaches from the RV, the company will fully replace the coating. Kazmierczak said the only time the company fully replaced the product was when a customer applied the coating to silicone.

Each gallon covers 50 square feet. The liquid deters mold with mildewcide and fungicide.
