Technology supplier Garmin is releasing a new line of audio amplifiers for RVs and other vehicles. The company said the amplifiers feature an ultracompact design and Bluetooth capability.
JL Audio, a Garmin brand, is set to release its AP Amplifier line with four different designs.
Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing Susan Lyman said the new amplifiers use a Class-D design, with lower battery drain and higher output than Class-AB amplifiers. The result is increased power to the speakers/subwoofers, enhancing audio performance.
“Our new JL Audio AP Amplifiers…allow you to play your favorite songs loud and clear,” Lyman said. “They offer increased power to connected speakers and subwoofers, are built to withstand a demanding environment and deliver superior audio quality year after year.”
The amplifiers are available in one-, four-, or six-channel models.
For consumers looking for easy installation, Garmin said the single-channel 200-watt RMS 4 Channel includes Bluetooth and an AUX input.
The four-channel 300-watt RMS Monoblock powers a single subwoofer. The four-channel 300-watt RMS 4 Channel powers four pairs of speakers or two pairs of speakers and a subwoofer.
For consumers with larger systems, the company said the six-channel 600-watt RMS 6 Channel is designed with staggered power that can run up to six pairs of speakers or four speakers and one subwoofer.
The JL Audio AP Amplifiers’ Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 67 indicates the device is sealed against dust and can withstand immersion to a depth of 1 meter (3 feet) for up to 30 minutes.
An IP rating is an international standard used to describe how well electronic devices are sealed against intrusion from solid particles and liquids. The first digit of an IP rating indicates, on a scale of one to six, how well a device is protected against solid objects. The second number measures resistance to liquids on a scale of one to nine.
The amplifiers feature a built-in LCD display for manual control. The 4 Channel model with Bluetooth includes a remote.
Garmin said the amplifiers can be easily installed to numerous RVs, boats, ATVs, UTVs and other power sports vehicles.
The new line officially went on sale Jan. 8. Garmin will occupy booth B134 at the 2026 Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa next week.
