Gen-Y Hitch has acquired Vision Doors, an RV cargo entry and baggage door supplier.

The company said the move demonstrates Gen-Y’s commitment to innovation, advanced automation and setting new standards.

Vision Doors will become Gen-Y Door, a division of Gen-Y Hitch. Gen-Y founder and Managing Partner Carl Borkholder said Gen-Y Door will push limits to ensure success and deliver value for customers.

“For decades, RV baggage and entry doors have remained largely unchanged, which contradicts our core values,” Borkholder said. “Gen-Y is built on innovation, teamwork and the drive to go beyond the ordinary. This acquisition marks another step in our pursuit of that mission. By integrating advanced automation into the manufacturing process, every Gen-Y Door will embody our values of precision, durability and industry-leading customer satisfaction. Automation enhances our workforce, allowing our team to concentrate on innovation, problem-solving and creating products that set a new standard.”

Vision Doors President Merlin Yoder, who founded Challenger Door before selling the company to Lippert in 2020, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition.

“We are excited to see the Vision Doors team join forces with Gen-Y Hitch,” Yoder said, “knowing this partnership will strengthen our ability to create new opportunities to best serve our team members, customers and the community.”

Gen-Y President and Managing Partner Dan Miller said he is thrilled to strengthen the company’s growing portfolio.

“These partnerships will drive an expanded product line that raises the bar for durability, functionality and design across the markets we currently serve,” he said, “while opening the door to new opportunities ahead.”
