Gen-Y Hitch Testing Establishes Durability

Through a simulated track test, Gen-Y Hitch said its Executive 5th Wheel King Pin Box proved to be durable.

The testing was conducted at the Navistar Proving Grounds track in New Carlisle, Indiana. The test was performed on a toy hauler outfitted with the Executive King Pin Box.

Gen-Y Hitch said the objective was to reveal the Torsion Flex technology’s damage reduction.

The results found the Gen-Y pin box had the most notable influence over RV protection compared with other tested suspension systems. The rubber torsion arms inside the hitch absorb up to 90% of the inertia between the trailer and the vehicle, enabling the two components to move independently. Gen-Y said the technology eradicates rough rides created by bumpy roads.

Gen-Y Hitch founder and marketing partner Carl Borkholder said the testing proved Gen-Y products are not the cause of recent fifth wheel frame failure issues.

“This validates that it is simply not true,” Borkholder said. “As a matter of fact, it is quite the opposite, based on the data.”

He said the Executive King Pin Box is a good option to reduce warranty claims and costs over time.
