Genesis Products Delivers Lightweight Interior

Genesis Products Inc. said the company supported the all-electric Coachmen RVEX’s launch with an ultra-lightweight interior.

Genesis said its interior design directly contributed to the model’s 270-mile electric range.

Genesis Engineering Manager Kyle Rasler said, “Coachmen came to us with the primary goal of reducing weight in the unit. We turned to innovative materials like our exclusive G-Lite plywood and our G-Strong PET foam-core panels to achieve our goals.

Genesis said its work enabled a 45% weight reduction in the RV’s cabinets, saving over 290 pounds through a combination of G-lite and Lisocore. Genesis said the floors, ceilings and walls are 50% lighter than a traditional build thanks to the lightweight G-Strong panels. Genesis said the panels absorb zero moisture and double the R-value of its wood alternative.

Coachmen RV General Manager Zach Eppers said, “We could not have done this without Genesis. They saw our vision and had not only the design and engineering capabilities, but also the drive to help bring it to fruition.”

Genesis said it designed the interior with vinyl, featuring stone and woodgrain finishes and storage features including two pull-out pantries.
