The day before Thanksgiving, Campers Inn RV completed its acquisition of Lazydays. The dealer chain will continue operating 10 of the 13 stores Lazydays owned at the time of the acquisition announcement.
With the deal complete, Campers Inn is operating 51 storefronts in 22 states. The company said it plans to open 2026 new dealerships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Milford, Massachusetts; and Washington, Pennsylvania.
Campers Inn’s expansion strategy began in earnest in 2013, when Chief Operating Officer Ben Hirsch joined his uncle, CEO Jeff Hirsch, on the executive team. At the time, the dealer chain operated seven stores. In the 12 years since, the company has grown its store count by 629%.
Jeff Hirsch said the Lazydays acquisition is a meaningful milestone in his career, which began by watching his parents found Campers Inn in 1966.
“Moments like this underscore the legacy they established,” he said, “and the responsibility we have to honor and continue it.”
Jeff Hirsch said Lazydays’ sale was a challenge that could have affected the entire RV industry. He said his goal was to ensure stability and continued trust for customers and partners.
“We are proud to welcome these Lazydays locations into the Campers Inn family,” he said. “These stores have strong teams and loyal customers, and we are committed to providing them with long-term stability, resources and support.”
Ben Hirsch said the acquisition was a challenge to complete on an aggressive schedule. He thanked Campers Inn and Lazydays employees for their help, as well as the company’s legal, banking and vendor partners.
“Now our job really begins,” he said, “and we get to do what we do best, execute.”
Ben Hirsch said the company will focus on investing in the former Lazydays stores and delivering consistent, high-quality experiences for consumers. He said success will depend on the actions Campers Inn takes moving forward.
Jeff Hirsch recalled his parents’ guiding principle: Success comes from taking care of customers and employees.
“This acquisition reflects that principle in action,” he said. “We look forward to investing in these communities, supporting these employees and continuing to grow.”
