According to National Powersports Auction, the pre-owned RV market is no longer correcting – it is strengthening.

The January NPA Pre-Owner RV Market Report indicates wholesale prices have gone up slightly and are tracking above historical norms as the industry moves into traditional selling season.

“If patterns hold,” the NPA said, “pricing and retail activity should continue climbing through spring.”

NPA acknowledged that conflict between the U.S. and Iran could influence fuel prices, supply chains and consumer confidence.

“That makes inventory strategy even more critical,” the NPA said. “Dealers who lean into pre-owned are better positioned to protect margins and maintain volume if conditions shift.”

NPA said the annual forecast points to modest growth, but January’s performance was largely flat. Inventory levels and prices remain elevated across the industry, contributing to cautious consumer behavior.

“Larger asset categories like Marine and RV reflected bigger near-term gains, with some volatility in the year-over-year stats,” the report states. “Overall, January pricing patterns align with historical norms, but at slightly stronger levels, reinforcing the narrative that wholesale values are firming up as the industry moves into the peak selling months.”

For dealers, the NPA said the playbook remains consistent but increasingly proactive.

Dealers are encouraged to prioritize proper acquisition rather than bulk buying, manage aged inventory strategically and prepare for improving turns rather than chasing big margins.

“Spring values have a tendency to ease the pain of improper procurement, so use them to your advantage and use the auction to move through aged product,” the NPA said. “January’s data confirms that the market is no longer in reset mode—it is rebuilding.”
