Kampgrounds of America (KOA) has hired Ann Emerson, former Good Sam VP and publisher, to take on a new role in supporting the network’s franchise growth.
Emerson has more than 30 years’ experience in the camping industry, KOA stated. She previously was responsible for growing the Good Same Park network, supporting campground owners and operators and connecting campers through print and digital mediums.
During her career, KOA stated Emerson has been a “crucial advocate” in the camping and RV industries, serving in capacities including the National Association of RV & Campgrounds (ARVC) Board of Directors, ARVC Foundation Chairwoman and ARVC Business Forum Chairwoman. In 2018, she received the Stan Martin Award, recognizing industry involvement, leadership, creativity and dedication.
“Ann brings years of industry relations and marketing experience to KOA initiatives,” KOA Chief Marketing Officer Whitney Scott said. “Her passion for camping and helping campgrounds succeed will further ignite the entrepreneurial spirit within KOA. We are thrilled to integrate her expertise in fueling the KOA brand forward.”
The campground network stated Emerson’s vast industry experience will help support its overall growth through innovative marketing techniques.
KOA currently has 12 parks either in planning or construction. Emerson will also focus on growing diversity among KOA’s franchisee ranks, a key initiative, the company stated.
In addition to supporting KOA’s system growth, Emerson will be tasked with building on the brand’s partnership portfolio.
Emerson will be working on the brand’s advocacy initiatives in partnership with KOA’s CEO and senior team.
