La Mesa RV’s president, Bob Upton, has retired after almost three decades in the RV industry.

During his 29 years at La Mesa, Upton served in many roles, including salesperson, director of sales and service, vice president, CEO and president.

Jason Kimbrell, La Mesa CEO, said Upton has been a trusted friend.

“Bob’s warmth, humor, compassion, wisdom, leadership and encouragement have been unmatched in our company history,” Kimbrell said.

Upton plans to spend more time with family and pursue many passions during his retirement, the company said, including travel, music, photography and the Drum Corps.

“Our humble thanks for the years of devoted and dedicated service to the company,” La Mesa said. “We are certain the rest of the RV community would like to join us in wishing Bob well.”

La Mesa RV was founded in San Diego and has 11 locations in Arizona, New Mexico and Florida.
