Lance Camper has donated its available supply of personal protection equipment (PPE) to a local hospital to help it deal with supply shortages due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Lancaster, California-based RV manufacturer transferred the supplies to the Antelope Valley Regional Hospital, which serves east Los Angeles County and the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster.

The donation took place Friday, March 27. On the same date, Lance Camper parent company REV Group announced it had temporarily suspended all RV production as a pandemic-related safety measure. REV Group continues to produce fire trucks, ambulances and other essential vehicles.

Lance Camper’s initial focus was to protect the health and well-being of its more than 500 associates and their families, Vice President and General Manager Matt Buckman said. With the successful implementation of its emergency action plan, the manufacturer’s focus turned towards its suppliers, customers and local community, he said.

“The widely publicized shortage of PPE was Lance’s opportunity to support the courageous first responders and medical professionals within our Antelope Valley community,” Buckman said. “As a safety-conscious manufacturer, we had many of the needed PPE items on hand, and the Lance leadership team was eager to donate these critically needed resources.”
