George Lovell, the product manager for Lippert’s Plant 72, was recently recognized by ECOAT, a conference for electrocoating professionals hosted by Gardner Business Media.

At the ECOAT 2026 Conference in Orlando, Florida, April 7-9, Lovell was a panelist. He was honored during the conference’s award banquet.

He received the Lifetime Achievement recognition for Application of Electrocoat Technology. The award recognizes long-term contributions to the advancement, application and development of electrocoating technology across industrial markets.

Chad Novak, Lippert’s vice president of sales for transportation products, said, “George’s recognition at ECOAT reflects not only his personal career achievements, but Lippert’s ongoing investment in technical expertise, continuous improvement, and advanced manufacturing capabilities. His leadership and depth of knowledge continue to raise the bar for coatings performance and operational efficiency across our facilities.”

Lovell has over four decades of experience in industrial coatings, manufacturing operations and business leadership. As Lippert’s product manager for coatings, he has led company-wide initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and coatings performance for large‑scale industrial applications.

His career includes senior leadership roles at PPG Industries, BASF, Chemetall, NCP Coatings, Collins & Aikman, and Lacks Enterprises, as well as service as a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He has been a college professor and is the author of a comprehensive textbook on electrodeposition coatings and processes.

Lovell participated in an Operational Efficiency Panel Discussion during ECOAT 2026. The panel addressed data‑driven strategies for improving system efficiency, managing resources and reducing operational costs within electrocoating lines. Discussion topics included process optimization, innovation in system design and measurable approaches to achieving operational excellence in high‑volume manufacturing environments.

“ECOAT continues to be one of the most valuable technical forums for our industry,” Lovell said. “It brings together experienced voices who are actively solving the same operational challenges and advancing electrocoating performance in real-world applications.”
