Ed McNamara, a 42-year veteran of the RV industry, will be awarded the first doctoral certificate from Sobel University on Monday, Dec. 9. McNamara will then deliver his thesis on solving the technician shortage.

McNamara’s delivery is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriot in Tacoma, Wash.

McNamara’s doctoral thesis included putting together a working system to hire and train technicians starting as early as their junior year in high school. A press release from Sobel University says McNamara’s work forges new ground in solving the ongoing problem of not having enough skilled technicians to keep up with increased sales and growing service demand in the RV industry.

McNamara will present his thesis to students enrolled in the Advanced Comprehensive Sales Course with Sobel University. After his presentation to the student body, he will be answering questions over a luncheon to industry professionals.

Reservations for his presentation and luncheon can be made separately from the five-day comprehensive sales course for all dealers, general managers, and service directors who would like to learn more about how to set up his system in their own stores.

Sobel University says it is keeping the price down to $50 per person to encourage more people to take advantage of the opportunity to hear about McNamara’s groundbreaking work.

Advanced registration is required and space is limited. To reserve seats or learn more call 253-565-2577.
