Tom Utterback created RV Partfinder two decades ago to fill a void in the RV industry.
In 1999, he set out to create the future of RV distributor catalogs and brochures. This week, RV Partfinder is celebrating 20 years in business with a new app version of the software.
“RV Partfinder will be releasing an app for Smartphone and tablet users. Available soon from Apple and Google Play stores, the App features easy access to RV Partfinder and the extensive Library,” the company announced.
Utterback first sought to build a new, digital way to view distributor catalogs and cross reference between distributors in lieu of using paper catalogs. His work lead him to creating another tool, Repair Partfinder, which allowed people to digitally view RV appliance and product breakdowns, manuals, brochures and technical guides.
Today both programs are combined as RV Partfinder.
“RV Partfinder was part of a series of RV related software programs developed to benefit the RV industry,” Utterback said. “I feel the RV industry as a whole benefits from Partfinder, but especially the end user. Best of all, the RV businesses get the credit by acquiring the correct parts for the customer in a timely manner.”
Designed specifically to assist the parts and service departments in identifying and sourcing parts, RV Partfinder is now used by retail store staff, technicians, and mobile repair businesses as well.
The official RV Partfinder product was released in 2000, and the new app marks that anniversary.
