Midland Radio recently unveiled a new portable base station series.

The MXPW series enables two-way radio users to achieve maximum GMRS range (up to 50 Watts) without being tethered to their RV, vehicle or home, making the company’s MXT Micro Mobile radio systems portable for the first time, Midland Radio said.

Midland offers three new base stations compatible with other company products: the MXPW500 compatible with Midland Radio’s MXT500 Micro Mobile two-way radio system, the MXPW115 compatible with the MXT115 two-way radio system and the MXPW01 compatible with the company’s 40-watt solar bundle.

The durable base stations feature long battery life, quick recharge and solar charging capabilities, Midland Radio said.

“We are thrilled to bring a new product to the market that takes Micro Mobile usability to the next level,” said Zak Al-Shawish, GMRS product manager at Midland Radio. Now, our customers can take their two-way GRMS radios with them wherever they go, without having to worry about losing power or sticking close to home. No other radio provider offers a compatible portable base station quite like this.”

Available now, the units are offered at the following prices – radios not included.

  • MXPW500 (MXT500 Ammo Can Base Station): $599.99
  • MXPW115 (MXT115 Ammo Can Base Station): $424.99
  • MXPW01 (40-Watt Solar Bundle): $149.99
