Mobile energy solution specialist Renogy has introduced its next‑generation semi‑solid‑state LiFePO₄ batteries, the Pro S1 series, to the RV market.
Renogy said the Pro S1 batteries use cells with about 70% less liquid electrolyte than traditional lithium batteries.
“More of the inside is stable, solid material and less is flammable liquid,” the company said. “That equates to three upgrades for off‑grid rigs: safety under stress, a longer life and more power.”
Renogy said semi-solid-state cells heat up to 9x more slowly than conventional lithium during abuse conditions, dramatically reducing the risk of thermal runaway.
“If punctured, they are engineered not to swell, burn or vent violently,” the company said, “an important reassurance when your battery room is also your bedroom, living room or van.”
Renogy said its Pro S1 batteries are rated for around 6,000 cycles at 80% capacity, or over 16 years at one full cycle per day.
“Compared to lead-acid that may struggle to reach a few hundred deep cycles,” the company said, “you’re effectively replacing many AGM banks with a single long-lived pack.”
The 12-volt 240-amp-hour Pro S1 can deliver higher continuous and peak output, according to Renogy.
For vans and compact RVs, Renogy said the 120-amp-hour model is designed to slide under seats.
“In other words, you’re not just stepping up from AGM to lithium,” the company said, “you’re stepping into a solid-state inspired architecture designed specifically for mobile energy.”
Renogy said other advantages of the Pro S1 series include faster charging, better performance in the cold and a better battery management system.
“All of this adds up to a system that feels less like ‘hoping the batteries hold,’” Renogy said, “and more like a quiet, predictable power plant under the floor.”
