Roadmaster said customer demand was behind the latest update to its Comfort Ride Shock Systems. The product now includes complete U-bolt hardware kits that provide an all-in-one suspension upgrade.
A Roadmaster spokesperson said the U-bolts feature specially sized lengths to perfectly accommodate Roadmaster’s shock system tie plates and backing plates. Each kit now includes eight heavy-duty U-bolts, four backing plates, 16 nuts and washers.
“This ensures that dealers, installers and RV owners have exactly the right components for a secure, precision fit right out of the box,” a spokesperson said, “streamlining the installation process.”
Roadmaster said it shock systems utilize nitrogen-charged shocks designed to absorb road forces.
“By tackling common towing issues like chucking, axle roll-up and suspension rebound, the system significantly improves ride quality and driver control,” a spokesperson said. “The shocks are innovatively mounted to combat both the vertical bouncing ‘pogo stick’ effect and side-to-side rocking, protecting the trailer’s structural integrity from twisting and flexing.”
All of this mitigates wear and tear on seams and sealants, helping to prevent water leaks, Roadmaster said.
To prevent customer confusion, the company has updated the part numbers and pricing for its tandem-axle trailer kits. The shock absorber system for 2-3/8-inch axles is now part number 24238 (formerly 2450).
The Comfort Ride Shock Systems for 3-inch axles is now 24300 (formerly 2460) and the system for 3-1/2-inch axles is now 24350 (formerly 2470).
