As 2024 came to a close last month, RV auction values decreased in December, according to Black Book’s RV Market Commentary for February.

Both motorhome and towable figures trended down compared with November values and compared with December 2023 values.

Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principles Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence said, “Given the time of year and how seasonal the RV market is, this movement was not really a surprise to most industry observers.”

The average motorhome selling price totaled $60,607, down $1,805, or 2.9%, compared with November. The average December towable selling price was $17,083, down $1,203, or 6.6%, compared with the previous month.

One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $62,600 while the average towable totaled $17,877.

Motorhome auction volume decreased 7.7% while towables dropped 6.3%.

The average motorhome model year sold in December was 2016 while the average towable model year was 2020.

Lawrence said he anticipated an uptick in values as the weather warms up.
